Automated Storage – Automated Racking
stow Australia’s automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS) Miniload single-store can be used for the storage of small goods, mainly totes, cartons and boxes with loads from 5 to 300 kg/unit.
The goods are handled automatically by AS/RS-cranes. These cranes are guided at the top and bottom to gather totes from their storage location and produce them at the picking location or place them directly onto the picking conveyor.
stow has collaborated with some of the largest systems integrators worldwide for the large automated racking installations. Each automated storage system can be adapted to any type of AS/RS; handling device, equipped with telescopic forks, side grips or with another extracting system.
Goods in an automated racking system
The design and quality of the plastic tote bin/carton is extremely important for the finished design of the automated racking system. The dimensions of these totes alter the level dimensions of the installation. Different sizes of totes are easily combined for one installation. The final design and sizing of the installation takes into consideration of the AS/RS crane.
